Brewing Recipes

NADIN Company offers two ways for brewing Mate tea-like drink. In Mate native country it is taken (drunk) from a peculiar pumpkin cup called calebassa using a bombilla (a special metal straw with a string).

  1. Fill up calebassa 2/3 full with dry mate.
  2. Gradually add either cold or hot water in small portions so that the water should be absorbed by mate.
  3. Put bombilla in calebassa slightly plunging it in the soaked mate.
  4. Top up calebassa with hot water which temperature should not be higher than 70-80º C. If the drink is made properly the mate grass should swell greatly filling the calebassa up to the brim.
  5. Take mate drink just after adding hot water. Infusion time for mate is from 30 seconds to 2 minutes.

Mate can also be brewed traditionally using tea-pots and cups.

Rooibos tea-like drink should be brewed as follows:

  1. Bring water to boil in stainless steel kettle.
  2. Brew Rooibos in a transparent glass tea pot to enjoy the incomparable color of the freshly made drink. Put Rooibos (one teaspoonful for every cup) in a tea pot, pour boiling water, and let the tea draw for 2-3 minutes.
  3. After brewing strain out Rooibos tea through a tea filter or a tea-pot press or a special fine tea-strainer.
  4. Pour in cups and serve. Delight in the view and taste of the wonderful drink.
