Nadin Tea — a Taste for Life!

Health Benefits

Ever since the discovery of tea, it has been thought to have wide-ranging health benefits. Modern scientific research is now proving that many of the claims made about tea over the centuries are true.

Tea’s most obvious benefit is that it is a completely natural and contains no artificial preservatives, colorings or flavorings (except additional flower, fruit or spice flavorings in flavored teas).

One of the components of tea is fluoride, which can strengthen tooth enamel and help reduce plaque, thus helps prevent gum disease.*

Animal research suggests that tea may reduce the risk of cancer — particularly lung, colon and skin. It is thought that the antioxidants in tea help prevent cancer cells formation.

Various researches also indicate tea’s possible benefit against heart disease, stroke and thrombosis. The caffeine in tea is thought to act as a stimulant to the heart and the circulatory system, which helps keep the blood vessels’ walls soft and reduce the risk of atherosclerosis. It has also been suggested that the polyphenols in tea help reduce the absorption of cholesterol into the blood stream and help prevent blood clots.

The caffeine in tea can help increase concentration and alertness. It also stimulates the digestive juices and the metabolism as well as the kidneys and the liver, thus helping get rid of the toxins in our bodies.*

White tea

White teas have high antioxidant polyphenol content even higher than green tea. Polyphenols are thought to fight the formation of certain cancer cells. Recent research suggests that the increased polyphenol content could be due to higher levels of caffeine found in white teas, which is the result of the oxidation during the withering process.*

Green tea

Green tea’s health benefits are thought to be mainly due to its contents of an antioxidant epigalloctechin-3 gallate (EGCG), which is preserved in green tea and lost in oolong and black teas when fermented. Antioxidants are thought to prevent free radicals, which cause damage to the cell tissue promoting aging, cancer and heart disease. It has been indicated by scientific research that the antioxidant found in green tea epigalloctechin-3 egallate (EGCG) is more powerful and effective at neutralizing free radicals than Vitamin C and E.*

Black tea

Black tea contains flavonoids. Recent studies showed that flavonoids found in black tea help reduce the production of “bad” cholesterol that can lead to stroke and heart attack.*

Yerba Mate

Yerba mate is an evergreen tree of the Holly family that grows in sub-tropics of South America primarily in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. Traditionally yerba mate was used by the Guarani Indians; they used it for drink and medicine. They depended on mate to help boost the immune system, help against depression, slow aging process, fight fatigue, stimulate the mind, control appetite, and reduce stress. Today’s scientific studies conclude that mate’s reputation for being a very beneficial and therapeutic drink is well deserved.*

Mate is known for its energizing quality. The energy comes from mateine, mateine is in the same chemical family as caffeine, but does not cause negative side effects such as nervousness and jitters. It is not addicting and acts as an excellent stimulant and is known to reduce blood pressure. Mate is also thought to improve digestion, regulate cholesterol levels, regenerate cells and cleanse blood.*
